A is for Alpha
Alpha (uppercase Α, lowercase α; Greek: άλφα) is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. In the system of Greek numerals it has a value of 1. It was derived from the Phoenician letter Aleph . Letters that arose from Alpha include the Latin A and the Cyrillic letter А.
In English the noun alpha is used as a synonym for "beginning", or "first" (in a series), reflecting its Greek roots.

Haiku and Sonnet
HAIKU
Tabby Kittens
Cute tabby kittens
playing under the blue sky
on a sunny day.
SONNET
Best Friend
I'll keep you near to my heart
I'll always hold you dear
Even when we're miles apart
Even when you're here
This heart for you does care
I'll listen to your fears
This heart for you will always share
I'll comfort your falling tears
You mean so much to me
I'll never walk away
You never turned your back on me
I'll always stay
Now and until the end
You will be my best friend
